Scott won the Olympic boxing silver medal in his weight class in 1988, and was the WBU world lightweight boxing champion from 1995 to 1997. He now lives in the USA, but was born in Liberia and adopted transracially by a Swedish family. He lost his title by fighting in an unauthorized contest in August 1997 against Mark Ramsey.
