1925-

Cook Island Maori poet

Campbell was born in the Cook Islands in the South Pacific and is part Cook Island Maori. Orphaned as a young child, he was sent to Dunedin, NZ, and raised there in an orphanage from 1933, in company with his siblings.

He has re-established contact with his Cook Islands relatives.

His books include Sidewinder, Sanctuary of Spirits, Mine Eyes Dazzle, Kapiti, and his autobiography, Island to Island.
