1926-

British magician

Berglas came to Britain in 1938 alone, as a Jewish refugee from Europe. He is/has been president of the Magic Circle (the UK association for professional magicians) and King Rat (president of the Grand Order of Water Rats, a major British show-business charity). He is often used as technical advisor for films and TV: he taught Jack Nicholson how to handle cards for his role as the Joker in Batman. He was the subject of the BBC TV program This Is Your Life on 25 December 1991.
